Not far from my house was a Catholic hospital where my mother often took me when I was ill. A few things fascinated me greatly. At the entrance stood a large statue of Mother Mary with Jesus, and inside, crosses with Jesus were everywhere. With no prior knowledge, I asked my mother questions about these things. Her explanations, influenced by our teachings, often portrayed Christianity negatively. During my high school years, I encountered a Christian preacher on the roadside sharing the gospel. I approached him seeking Urdu literature, but he didn't have any. Instead, he invited me to his home, marking my first visit to a Christian household. I was deeply moved by their warm welcome. Over time, we became friends, though I remained steadfast in my faith.
By the time I finished pre-college, I had grown stronger in my Islamic faith. I decided to enter an Islamic Shiite seminary to prepare myself for engaging with Christians and non-Muslims. As I prepared for seminary, I learned about a Bible Seminary and became fascinated with the idea of studying Christianity before Islamic studies. In 1995, I landed in Kerala's Bible College for a three-year program, a challenging time away from family in a foreign land, on a mission to learn about Christianity while posing as a Muslim. Yet, it was all part of God’s plan, guiding me with grace through unfamiliar territory.
Spending most of my time in the Bible College Library, I immersed myself in understanding the Christian faith. I read books by Josh MacDowell and learned about the Bible's preservation. Although I brought books by Ahmed Deedat, none of their arguments held up against what I discovered. Within six months, I came to understand that the Bible is the unaltered word of God and that Jesus Christ's crucifixion, burial, resurrection, and ascension are true. This realization shattered my previous beliefs, overwhelmed my heart, and led me to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
This truth confronted me with profound questions about Islam, prompting me to delve deeper into comparative religious studies, particularly Christian apologetics from an Islamic perspective. I began writing a dissertation on "Are Muslim objections Valid?" and became fully convinced that Jesus is the ultimate truth, the way to eternal life, and the only path to God the Father.
The Lord redirected my plans, leading me to serve Him for the past 28 years without regrets, witnessing His miracles and guidance in my life. I am forever grateful for His sovereignty, eagerly anticipating the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the truth. He died and rose again for us, and He will come again. No effort can suppress His truth, for knowing Him sets us free. My prayer is that God will open your eyes to the beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ and save you from eternal damnation. Taste and see how good God is. Amen.
A Brother in Christ .
